My name is Dr. Kenny Handelman and I am a Psychiatrist. I work in a hospital based practice at the William Osler Health Centre, Brampton Memorial Hospital Campus.
I have specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, though I do occassionally see adults for ADHD assessments (for more information on this, see How to see Dr. Handelman).
I am glad that you found this page, as it means that you may be coming to see me in my office, or you are searching for more information on children's mental health.

If you are familiar at all with children's mental health, then you are aware that there is a tremendous shortage of services available to children, teens and their families - not only in Peel region, but across Ontario and Canada. Hopefully this site can prepare you for a visit with me (if you are referred by a doctor - see 'How to see Dr. Handelman'), or point you in the right direction, even if our paths don't cross.
A brief background about myself: I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I teach for the University of Western Ontario, and am an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry for them. At William Osler, I work on the GAD adolescent inpatient unit (10 beds), as well as the day hospital program (7 spots). I also have a private practice located in the hospital, where I see patients by referral only.
